We had a great time and enjoyed hearing the comments on our Honey Triple, our
smooth, dry triple with the added complexity of my own wild flower honey. We will
be releasing more of this this fall so look for it before the holidays.
KSW Beer Line Caught Beer Reviews
Greg says:Rye beer lovers are going to love rye beers, and we're okay with that; however,
there are more-drinkable rye beers out there. You're better-off going for something like
Ambacht Brewing's Golden Rye Ale...
Portland Beer and music
Jason says some very nice things about Ambacht Black Gold
Porter and Golden Rye Ale.
We also met Portland's Beer
Goddess Lisa Morrison, who invited Tom to join her on the 3rd of
July episode of her weekly radio show Beer O'Clock with The
Beer Goddess, which airs Saturdays at 3 to 4pm on News Radio 750 KXL. Be
sure to tune in, or check out the podcast.
"When they say Beer, we say Organic"
We had a great response to the two Ambacht ales being poured this year's North
American Organic Brewer's Festival (NAOBF). Folks tasted and enjoyed our Black
Gold Porter, (which is dark in color but light on the tongue, and is a dark
biere de garde rather than a porter). Most tasters were also impressed with
our Black Gold's rye cousin, Golden Rye Pale Ale, which we think is delicious
and refreshing. We had a great time meeting folks, and had our first major
media exposure on KGW Channel 8's Live at 7 news program:
Portland Cheers to Belgian Beers
We bottled up some of our PCTBB entry and they will be ready in a few weeks. We
hit the bullseye in the beer selector dart-throw and could make anything we wanted.
We were curious what Wyeast's Farmhouse (3726PC) would do to our Porter recipe,
so we cooked up a batch and I think we hit another bullsey with this one -- this
yeast brings new flavors to the party!
I served up our beer during the first shift at PCtBB and had a great time chatting
with folks. Here is a picture of Brandy
and Tom at PCtBB 2010, serving up Ambacht. The folks at BrewPublic
had some nice things to say about us!
Our days of flying under the radar are over. BrewPublic
stopped by and interviewed me and now our cover is blown! At least we have a little
bit of beer to taste. So if you are in the neighborhood stop by to say hello and
try a beer or two. Here is a map to our location.
